The Best News Yet!!

The above picture shows you just how relaxed and unstressed Sweet Pea is.

The bilirubin issue is basically no longer an issue and she is showing minimal to no signs of withdrawals!

Her birth mother was on a very high dosage of methadone but research has shown it is not the amount of methadone taken that determines how affected the baby is at birth.

The determining factor is how much the placenta absorbs the methadone and passes it on to the baby.

There have been countless prayers prayed for this baby girl since we first learned of her on March 8th – exactly five months ago from tomorrow!

I specifically asked my prayer warriors to pray that God would shield Sweet Pea in the womb and not allow the methadone to pass through the placenta to Sweet Pea.

The only explanation as to why Sweet Pea is not experiencing the methadone withdrawals is that God did indeed protect her little body in her birth mother’s womb!

And now for the best news yet…

Dr. Wonderful has predicted Sweet Pea will be discharged tomorrow …

What a mighty God we serve!

Thank YOU for praying for Sweet Pea.

If you have prayed for Sweet Pea’s health would you leave a comment on this post just saying you have prayed for her??

One day, I would love for Sweet Pea to be able to read all the comments left and see for herself just how many people, around the world, were praying for her!

I’ll give a brief update in the morning once I know for sure if we are definitely headed HOME!!

I am so thankful to God that He has answered our prayers and was a shield around you. I prayed God placed a hedge of protection around your little body and I also prayed, once you were born, that God’s light shine brightly on your little body and get any harmful substances OUT of your body! Praise the Lord! He has answered our prayers. I love you SO VERY much! Grandma

  31. Sweat Pea,
I have been praying for you for a while now. I have been so encouraged by your Mum’s story and how she graciously shares with the blog. This has been such an encouragement to me! I know that you have been placed in the perfect family and I know that God has such an amazing plan for you. I pray for continued healing and quick recovery, most importantly, that you will be able to go home and be with your big sister, mum and dad very soon!

Elaine, we have never met (and I have never commented before either), but you inspire me in so many ways. May God continue to hold you and your family safe and securely in His hands, and may you continue to trust in Him – he really has the most amazing things yet to come!

God bless you all! (all the way from London, UK)

  32. Sweet Pea- I have been praying fro your family for a very long time and for you since I heard that your mom & dad had begun the journey to find you. I prayed that you would be protected from the circumstances beyond your control. That God would hold you close and keep you safe until you could be held in mommies arms. I continue to pray for your health and that soon you will get to go home and be with your big sister. You are a very loved and wanted little girl. I am so blessed to see the work God is doing in your family and hearing your moms testimony always touches my heart. I’m looking froward to the home at last pictures! Hugs-Lindsey Y

Though the situation changed, I never stopped praying for you, their future child. I left the picture of Little Bug with Big Sister magnets on my refrigerator so I would remember every time I looked at it to pray for you. I’m so glad you are here! I love you very much!

  34. Dear Elaine, congratulations!!! It’s such wonderful news! I know you will be the best mum in the world for Sweet Pea like how you have been to Little Bug. :)
