We started H week by writing the letter H. I drew the capital H and then on the back of the paper she wanted to write H’s. The top H I drew lines for her to trace and then she traced it herself!
Our memory verse is Honor your father and mother.
We made a Hand Tree!
We painted Little Bug’s hand and arm to make the tree trunk and branches. Then Little Bug finger painted the leaves.
We made a Hippo!
Helping Hands are Happy Hands! We made a sun with her handprints and yellow paint. While we made this, we talked about how Little Bug is a helper to Mommy, Daddy, her sister and her friends.
This didn’t turn out too good, but it was because we really needed to use a bigger sheet of paper. It is suppose to be a Handprint Rainbow. The colors are still very pretty, but it didn’t quite make a rainbow! Oh well. We still had fun making it!
Little Bug finished up “H week” at Grandma’s house.
She glued hearts on to the letter H.
She did a Hippo Color Word Match. She matched the hippo to the correct color on the page. My mom said she flew through this activity.
Then she did the Hh Do-A-Dot page. She LOVED this and it was so easy to prep. Just print the page and place it on a cookie sheet. Then, using circle magnets, Little Bug placed the magnets on the paper to make the H and h. She ran out of magnets. I will have to buy more. The ones I had were left over from my teaching days.
I imagine she was saying, “I don’t have anymore left!”

Where in the world do you buy those cute little magnetic dots? I LOVE this idea!
I had them when I taught 4th grade (5-8 years ago!!) and I am not sure where I got them from. I would imagine they could be found at Wal Mart. I am planning to look for more next time I go to Wal Mart. If I can’t find any there, I will make them using pom pom balls (that I know you can buy at Wal Mart) and then just glue a magnet on it so that it will stick to the cookie sheet.
LB LOVES this dot activity! She wanted to do them today while I was fixing breakfast!! Once I get a bunch of them printed, I want to put them in a place where she can easily pull them out and do them whenever she wants…or when I need her to have something to keep her busy for 10ish mins or so!!
Another place to look for the magnetic dots would be the teaching school supply store.
Good idea, Mama! I looked last night at Wal Mart but I didn’t see any. But, I had both girls with me and LB was in her PRINCESS SHOES which were making LOUD noises every step she took and I needed to get to one more store before we met Dave for dinner! I wish I had taken a picture of her in those shoes walking around Wal Mart. She was a sight!
