Posted on June 29th, 2011 by Elaine

I have some exciting news to share with you about Baby Sunshine’s family!

crosby fam

Remember, after a looooong road Sam and Lindsay adopted Baby Sunshine in February of this year!

crosby-031

Many of you traveled that long road with them through prayer.

And now…

Sam and Lindsay are starting the process to bring home a sibling for Rebekah Love through another miracle of adoption!

I know I felt helpless while Jeremy and Laura were riding the wild ride that blessed them with Rebekah.

While I did bombard the throne of Jesus on their behalf during that long road, I wanted to do something for them while they waited.

Praying literally was all we could do for them as they waited to find out God’s Will for precious Rebekah Love.

Now, as Sam and Lindsay begin their journey to #2, there is something we can all do for them to help and you even get something in return for the help you give them!

Buy one of these T-shirts and you will be directly helping Sam and Lindsay raise the funds they need for this adoption and you will have a very cool T-shirt with an awesome message to wear!

There are two choices to choose from:

CLICK HERE to find out how you can order one of these T-shirts for $18!

(And keep reading because I am about to offer an awesome deal to YOU!)

I love the message behind this T-shirt…

We love because He first loved us. (I John 4:19)

The foundation of adoption is certainly love.

If you believe in Jesus Christ and have made Him Lord of your life, you have been adopted into His family because Jesus loves you.

Adoptive parents open their hearts to love a child as if they were born of their own flesh and blood.

Birth parents surrender their parental rights out of love so that their child can have a life they cannot give.

The first order will be placed on July 18th so you need to place your order by      July 17th!!

That’s not all…

The first 10 people to place an order for a T-shirt will receive their T-shirts for only $16!!

Here is how:

  1. Place an order for a T-shirt (by July 17th) by clicking HERE.
  2. In your order, mention this blog (God’s Faithfulness Through Infertility) and your T-shirt will only cost you $16 (as long as you are one of the first 10 to respond)!
  3. Limit one $16 deal to one T-shirt.

We love because He first loved us!

Introducing … Baby Sunshine!!!

Posted on February 15th, 2011 by Elaine

For over a year now, this is the beautiful little girl you have been praying for…

Rebekah Love

Rebekah Love isn’t a baby anymore.

In fact, she is almost two years old.

But she is Jeremy (Sam is his real name!) and Laura’s (Lindsay is her real name!) baby girl now and forevermore.

Sam and Lindsay started writing a blog on the week that Rebekah’s adoption was finalized.

Click here and you can read an amazing story of God’s faithfulness and love.

THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart, for praying for little Rebekah Love over the past year.

Adoption Day for Baby Sunshine!!

The title says it all!

Today, in a courtroom, Baby Sunshine will become Jeremy and Laura’s forever daughter!

Another beautiful example of God’s faithfulness and beautiful plan for a precious little girl.

Baby Sunshine Update!

Jeremy and Laura have a court date to officially make Baby Sunshine a part of their family – forever!!!

What a journey this has been for them. Another story of God’s faithfulness and another story of redemption found in adoption.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for God’s Will in the life of this precious baby.

In other news, I have more energy today that I’ve had in the past 3 days! I’m not 100% yet, but finally I can see the light at the end of this tunnel of sickness.

Baby Sunshine: December Update

Posted on December 10th, 2010 by Elaine

I had someone ask for an update on Baby Sunshine and then I realized I had not given an update since the beginning of October.

Things are still moving in the direction of Jeremy and Laura adopting Baby Sunshine!!

They have signed the petition for a court date to be able to adopt Baby Sunshine.

Jeremy and Laura are hoping and praying for a court date before the end of the year, but they have been told they will most likely get a date in January.

Would you pray with me that Baby Sunshine’s adoption can happen before the end of the year?

The road has been anything but easy for Jeremy, Laura and Baby Sunshine but I am so incredibly happy and excited that very soon they will officially be a family of three!

Baby Sunshine Update!

Posted on October 4th, 2010 by Elaine

It’s been awhile since I have given an update on Baby Sunshine and there is much to update!

First, let me give a brief summary of what has been going on with Baby Sunshine.

This precious baby has been the foster child of my friends Jeremy and Laura since around 2 months old. Jeremy and Laura have always had the desire to adopt Baby Sunshine, but they did not know what God’s plans were concerning this matter.

Jeremy and Laura have endured a crazy road along the way. There was a season that it looked like God was going to allow Baby Sunshine to go back to the biological parents.

Then, Baby Sunshine’s birth mother unexpectedly passed away. Towards the end of summer, Baby Sunshine’s birth father was to go to court about termination of parental rights. When he failed to show up, his parental rights were eventually terminated.

Now, Jeremy and Laura are in the process of getting the paperwork in order to be able to adopt Baby Sunshine! The adoption should happen sometime this Fall.

Their journey has been an amazing inspiration to me. Jeremy and Laura have allowed God to receive all the glory in this situation. They have put their faith in the Lord and prayed all along that God’s Will be done concerning this precious child they have loved as their own.

I have asked my readers numerous times to please pray for Baby Sunshine and that if it be God’s Will, He would allow this child to permanently join Jeremy and Laura’s family.

For the first time, it seems that God is moving in this direction and I just could not be more excited for this sweet family. There is much heartache and sorrow behind Baby Sunshine’s story and there is much redemption and joy (as with any adoption story, really).

Please continue to join me in prayer for this child. Please pray that the adoption paperwork would be processed quickly so that Baby Sunshine can be placed in a “Forever Home” with the only parents Baby Sunshine really knows: Jeremy and Laura.

Praise God for His never-ending love and mercy.

Bullet Post

Posted on July 14th, 2010 by Elaine

This is going to be a bullets post because I’ve got many topics to cover.

  • Bryan is the same. No brain activity and on life support. It is just heartbreaking. Please continue to lift him up in prayer. Pray for Joy and that God would give her a strength only He can give.
  • Baby Sunshine’s biological father did not show up to court. Another court date has been set for August 5th. The termination of parental rights will happen that day whether he shows up or not. God is moving in the direction of allowing Jeremy and Laura to adopt Baby Sunshine. Please keep praying for God’s will in this precious baby’s life.
  • We (Dave, Little Bug and I) are headed to the mountains for vacation on Saturday! It is our annual family vacation. My parents and brother will leave Thursday to go. Little Bug’s Mimaw (my aunt) will also be there. We are looking forward to a wonderful week. Things may be quiet on the blog next week as my internet access is very limited there.
  • Naps continue to be a battle around here. We are going on 7 weeks of a weird napping phase. In the past we have had a weird napping period – but it has never lasted more than a week or two (except month 6, which was a really tough month in the napping department). The main difference now is that Little Bug used to lay down for naps with no fuss once I sleep trained her. Now, she cries and fusses for a time before eventually falling asleep and lengths of naps are all over the map! This morning she took an almost 2-hour nap (!!!) but yesterday her morning nap was only 45 minutes! I know all this is because she is trying to transition from two to one nap. (And that is why her nap lengths are so inconsistent, maybe??) I’m going to keep the two naps for a little while longer because I really don’t feel she is at the point of dropping a morning nap, however long or short is it. Maybe next month I’ll give dropping the morning nap a shot and just see what happens. This has by far been the toughest sleep transition for us! I just have to keep reminding myself that we are in a rough patch and things will eventually smooth out again.

Lots of Updates

Baby Sunshine:

Baby Sunshine’s birth mother passed away. Please pray for the family as they grieve. Sin got ultimate victory in the life of this woman and it is just heartbreaking.

Uncle David:

Uncle David’s aneurysm was three months ago today. He wrote this today:

Little did I know 3 months ago from this very day that my life would change so drastically in such a short time.  Having had some headaches and back pain, I had no idea that anything so major was going on.  I am so thankful that by the grace of God I was at a doctor’s office that could take care of me immediately when I collapsed.  I am thankful as well for the countless doctors, nurses, and therapists that were instrumental in my recovery.

I am doing much better these days.  I am starting to get back to normal.  I finished up physical and occupational therapy last week.  I will still have speech therapy for a little while longer.    Hopefully I will be able to go back to work and to drive before too long.

Thank you for all the support for Mary, Lauren and Sarah during this trying time in their lives and for the many prayers for my recovery.   I believe that God worked a miracle in my life and I am so thankful to be where I am today.

David

As you can see Uncle David is doing remarkably well and we praise the Lord for performing this miracle in his life.

My parents, Little Bug and I are going to go visit Uncle David. Please pray Little Bug travels well on Saturday. We will be driving about 8 hours.

Little Bug:

Little Bug had her Feeding Evaluation yesterday. It went well. It seems Little Bug needs to get used to the feel of solid food in her mouth to help her overcome her sensitivity.

The therapist we saw said we need to stimulate the inside of her mouth as much as possible. This can be done by taking a toothbrush and rubbing it around her mouth and over her tongue.

We are also to start giving her solid food mashed up along with her pureed foods. If she gags on the solids we are to give her a couple of bites of pureed food and then try another bite of solid foods.

We have mashed a banana for her several times now. She gagged a few times on the banana at the appointment, but then later in the day when I fed her more banana she ate without one gag!

Then, tonight for dinner, I mashed up some green beans and she only gagged one time!

We will go back to see the therapist when we return from the trip. Little Bug is to see the therapist weekly.

While the therapist signed Little Bug up for 6 months of therapy (for insurance purposes), I am confident that we can solve this problem with hopefully not more than a month of therapy appointments. But we will take it one step at a time and see how Little Bug does.

Like my mom said (and I agree), Little Bug is a smart little girl and a fast learner and it won’t be long and she will learn to eat her solids!
